Li Ka Shing Early Cancer Institute Cambridge
SWH’s early appointment on the scheme allowed for sustainability and BREEAM discussions to be integrated within the design of the building from the outset.
The scheme involved the major refurbishment of the Early Cancer Institute building to provide a state-of-the-art facility for world-class research. The building is home to wet and dry labs, write-up and administrative areas, meeting rooms, a café hub, and a flexible open-plan space for events.
The building has been carefully designed and redeveloped to provide an environment that will facilitate the important scientific research undertaken here.
Sustainability measures can be seen throughout the entire development, including the installation of energy-efficient labs, extensive energy metering, and extensive cycle storage.
