The East London Line railway project, for TFL, involved a significant number of civil engineering and structural engineering elements.
The East London Line is an extension which runs between Dalston Junction and New Cross Gate in South London.
Scott White and Hookins designed and detailed 400 line-side signalling, power supply and communications installations, all to a tight programme. This involved site surveys, interfacing with the other disciplines and obtaining assurance approval for each structure.
Installations included UTXs, REBs, LOCs, RRAPs, signal and gantry bases, electrical sub-stations, elevated steel platforms and retaining walls.
Each site was surveyed and photographed by SWH’s engineers.
Close liaison with the client and other disciplines was achieved by SWH’s coordinating engineer, based in the client’s office.
Drawings were produced at SWH’s offices by a dedicated team of technicians using Microstation to TFL’s strict CAD standards. SWH engineers undertook the DRE and CRE roles for their elements of the design.
SWH successfully met the client’s requirements for both product and programme.
