Project Profile

71 - 79 George Street Oxford

The project involved a major refurbishment of an existing retail, commercial and residential development in the heart of Oxford.

Scott White and Hookins were commissioned to undertake Civil and Structural design services for a major refurbishment of an existing retail, commercial and residential development, in the heart of Oxford.

Working with Oxford Architects and undertaking desktop studies of the available information, an outline scheme was developed.

It was agreed to let an early enabling works contract for soft strip, asbestos removal and intrusive investigation works.

Significant areas of the building were de-constructed to enable the installation of two new full height lightwells through the building, and to extend the partial top floor over the whole foot print of the building.

By working closely with the Architect and the Contractor on site, dealing with issues swiftly, we were able to complete the project on time and to budget.
