Project Profile

19-21 Great Queen Street Holborn, London

SWH considered all aspects of the development, throughout the BREEAM assessment process, of this residential project in London.

This domestic refurbishment scheme saw the conversion and extension of an existing building, to create four luxury apartments in Holborn, London. Throughout the BREEAM assessment process, the design team considered all aspects of the development, including the management of the construction works, opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of the occupants, and reduction in waste production, throughout construction.

The sustainability offering of the development was optimised through good daylighting levels, the specification of low VOC finishing products, and the installation of efficient water components. The development also benefits from renewable energy, in the form of air source heat pumps and solar PVs, which serve to reduce the carbon emissions from the dwellings.

Energy efficient lighting and appliances have also been installed to seek further reductions in energy use throughout the building.
