APM Wards 2012 - Community Award
Scott White and Hookins are pleased to have been part of the award winning team for this £3million Community project. The work involved refurbishment of a historic fire station building in the centre of Oxford for Oxford City Council and national charity, Crisis.
For the transformation of the building into a community asset the project comprised refurbishment of an existing art gallery, auditorium and nightclub into a theatre, café and art spaces for the homeless charity Crisis.
The building was the original Corn Exchange in Oxford.
Our design retained as much structure as possible whilst working with the architects to deliver the clients aspirations. Green roofs were introduced and assist with surface water run-off from the site.
