Tilehouse Street Church, Hitchin

On Saturday 20th March, Tilehouse Street Church, Hitchin was officially re-opened by Richard Whitmore.

It was the church’s 341st birthday – the church was established very soon after John Bunyan’s time. The present building dates from 1844, and Minister John Mathews paid tribute to Scott White and Hookins’ involvement in the recent remodelling of the church for the 21st century.

In particular he drew attention to the care needed to support the historic organ which is located over the new entrance area. Scott White and Hookins designed both the temporary and permanent supports to the organ.

We are pleased to have been involved in this interesting and rewarding project.
