East London Line
Working as part of the Balfour Beatty Carillion joint venture SWH provided a fully managed team to deliver the design and approval of over 500 structures on the East London Line. With the in depth experience of our staff we were able to undertake designs ranging from isolated signal foundations to the coordination of major line side infrastructure and retaining walls.
Denham - New Station Design
Full civil/structural engineering services acting as lead designers for the installation of a new platform and footbridge with associated lifts and stairs. The project comprised installation of a new modular precast platform within the existing wide way and demolition of the existing platform, with no significant line closures. Due to planning restrictions the lift shafts at high levels and the footbridge parapets had to be formed with glass. A full design service was provided including temporary works and obtaining all approvals.
Farringdon - Condition Surveys and assessments
SWH have undertaken a number of condition surveys and structural assessments as part of the Thameslink upgrade works at Farringdon. The assessments covered demolition of existing structures, existing bridge girders for additional loading as well as various assessments for changes to the existing structure to accommodate the proposed works.
Farringdon Moorgate - HV cable route design
Working for Laing O'Rourke Costain joint venture we carried out the assessment, survey and design of a new HV cable route between Moorgate and Farringdon Stations. The work comprised site survey works, some of which required confined space certification, as well as design.
