With our considerable and wide-ranging experience of construction health and safety and related issues, SWH Health and Safety Ltd is ideally placed to offer advice to clients to enable them to manage the health and safety hazards and risks associated with every aspect of their business.
Our skills include:
We can offer a number of options to clients, whether it's the bare minimum requirements they wish to cover or a fully comprehensive service covering a number of health and safety aspects.
We have developed our own highly effective computer-based system for auditing. Our scoring system readily identifies deficiencies and facilitates comparison of success scores, paving the way for ongoing improvement. It also allows comparison of the performance of individual contractors carrying out similar works (eg: as part of a term commission or framework agreement).
Our systems incorporate the latest technology. For example, our site auditors are able to prepare an audit report and e-mail it to the Client from site without the need to return to the office.
We can also undertake full statistical analysis of audit results, presenting the information to clients (eg: as part of a regular health and safety forum) and making appropriate recommendations.
We prepare full health and safety policy documentation, including 'arrangements for health and safety' tailored to each clients' individual needs. We incorporate all the latest legislative requirements that apply to the client's business, together with 'best practice'; based on our extensive experience.
We can also simply and effectively update your existing documentation and manage this in a cost-effective manner, on a year-to-year basis.
We can produce risk assessments that not only comply with the demands of your clients, statutory bodies, etc, but which are also realistic and effective in addressing the actual considerations of the project or activity concerned. These can be generic or site specific, but we believe in making them easy to understand and easy to follow.
Similarly, with our knowledge and experience of construction principles and issues, we can assist in preparation of method statements. Although we firmly believe that the method statements need to be prepared by the persons carrying out the works, we can assist and advise in this process.
With our knowledge of the various health and safety regulations and requirements, we are ideally placed to visit your premises and carry out a workplace assessment.
This will cover areas such as fire, emergency procedures, first aid provision, display screen assessments, electrical testing, workplace regulations, manual handling, risk assessments and provision for DDA arrangements etc, as well as the risk assessment requirements under the various regulations.
You will be provided with an independent verification of your arrangements along with guidance and advice regarding any deficiencies you may have. The workplace assessment is an ideal starting point for employers with difficult situations or those who need reassurance that they are meeting their corporate requirements. A day is spent auditing the workplace and management practices, and a report is produced outlining both the compliant and deficient areas.
We can offer health and safety training to cover all types of requirements from toolbox talks to full construction training. Generally, our training covers the requirements of the construction industry, but can be extended to cover any business requirements.
