We are a medium sized dynamic STRUCTURAL & CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY, and are seeking to recruit a GRADUATE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER at our CARSHALTON Office.
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Graduate Structural Engineer to work in our busy CARSHALTON office. We can offer you work on a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects covering many different construction sectors. Established in 1963 the practice employs over 70 staff in 3 UK offices and currently has a very full order book.
It is expected that you will be required to work on several projects at any one time, and you will have good multi tasking capabilities. As you develop in confidence and ability, you will afforded greater responsibility with fewer restrictions whilst working in a friendly team environment.
It would be considered advantageous, but not essential, if you have previous experience as a design engineer in an engineering consultancy, a good knowledge of structural design using BS codes including steel and reinforced concrete and suitable design software packages.
Your Continuous Professional Development is encouraged and we would support you towards professional membership of the ICE and IStructE.
You will be working in a professional office based environment and be expected to dress in a presentable manner, suitable for meeting with clients.

Your Responsibilities
- Undertake analysis of structures and produce structural calculations
- Provide support and carryout site inspections during the construction phase
- Develop a responsibility for smaller structural projects
- Communicate effectively with internal and external project teams
- Provide support to other Structural Engineers on larger projects
- Develop ongoing relationships with other professionals
Our Requirements
- MEng or BEng Honours in Civil or Structural Engineering;
- Working towards achieving chartered status with IStructE or ICE;
- 2 years consulting experience in Structural Engineering;
- A working knowledge of structural design codes and suitable design software;
- A good grasp of the English Language.
Your Training and Development
Under the supervision of a chartered engineer the practice offers
you an ICE Approved training scheme. In addition training is also
offered for you to work towards IStructE professional
membership. It is expected that you will be motivated to
complete much of the initial professional development within two to
three years and you would be encouraged to support the Institutions
of Structural and Civil Engineers and attend their local seminars
and meetings.
