We are a medium sized dynamic STRUCTURAL & CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSULTANCY, and are seeking to recruit a CAD TECHNICIAN at our BEDFORD Office.

We are looking for a motivated and well organised CAD Technician to work in our busy BEDFORD office. We can offer you work on a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects covering many different construction sectors. Established in 1963 the practice employs over 70 staff in 3 UK offices and currently has a very full order book.

As a suitable candidate you should have at least 5 years experience of working as an AutoCAD Technician in an engineering consultancy or design office. You should have specific experience of Infrastructure, Roads and Drainage, Buildings or Structural Engineering. Additional experience of RC detailing would be an advantage.

Your Responsibilities 

  • Prepare Structural and Civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD;
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external project teams;
  • Provide technical support to the Project Engineers;

Our Requirements

  • ONC or HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering;
  • Minimum of 5 years experience using AutoCAD in a Civil/Structural or Building related field;
  • Good technical and presentation skills;
  • Good communication skills and a high level of motivation;

Your Training and Development
As Investors in People we take the training and Continued Professional Development of all staff very seriously. If required, you will be offered day release attendance of an ONC/HNC course in Civil/Structural Engineering at a local college. As you progress, under the supervision of a chartered engineer, the practice will encourage you to undertake further training under an ICE Approved training scheme or IStructE scheme to gain either Technician or Incorporated membership of the IStructE or ICE.
