Mental Health
Operating under separate commissions or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, projects are typically undertaken within Framework Agreements or as one-off multi-million pound capital works to design new works or upgrade facilities within large existing estates. Projects have been let under a variety of contracts including traditional, design and build, two stage tender, construction management and Procure 21.
The range of mental health works projects undertaken by Scott White and Hookins in recent years has included the following:
- A new 70 bed specialist Mental Health unit, a new Sports and Visits Centre, new site-wide perimeter security fences and walls together with new access roads etc for a high security NHS Hospital.
- Large Medium Secure Units for both an NHS Hospital and St Andrews, a private health charity in Northampton.
- Alterations and extensions to numerous buildings and other structures within a number of secure sites including High Security and Medium Secure NHS Hospital environments.
- An Older Adult Unit at Broomfield Hospital in Essex with state of the art architecture, providing an environment which benefits both patients and staff.
- A mental illness unit attached to the main hospital buildings at Homerton Hospital, Hackney.
- Numerous local mental health units across London and the south-east.
Each project has given us an unrivalled experience of working within mental health services and secure environments. In addition we appreciate the need to minimise disruption and to ensure that the safety and security of staff and building occupants is not compromised during any Works.
We can also bring our experience and knowledge to the table when participating in risk management meetings, Health and Safety hazard registers and achieving appropriate BREEAM levels.
Scott White and Hookins is familiar with operating within secure regulations including document control and checking procedures. Where appropriate our staff have received the necessary security clearances.
